Outlook: After an up-and-down 2014, the Newington Indians are hoping for more consistency this season.

Although the Indians graduated nine players from last year’s squad, the returning group has good chemistry that should help translate into wins. Several players will be learning their new positions on the fly, but the returning class features several entrenched starters, such as Max Ermini, who will be starting in the outfield for the third straight season.

Losing Chad Korte and Marcus Guadarrama will be tough blows to the pitching staff, however, Pat Donahue has plenty of experience on the mound, with four wins a season ago. The Indians had high hopes heading into 2014, and while the expectations weren’t met, they had enough positives to lay the foundation for 2015.

“Losing nine players will force several players to learn on the job,” head coach Ben Alaimo said.
