Baseball wins home opener

 Newington 7, Rocky Hill 2: Trailing 2-1, the Indians exploded for six runs in the fifth inning to secure a 7-2 win to start the new season.

Jack Kelley went the distance for Newington, striking out seven while walking just one, while helping himself with some run support by going 3-for-3 at the plate with a RBI.

The Indians chipped away at the Wethersfield lead in the fourth, thanks to a triple that led to a sac fly by Jack Deijiloro, pulling Newington within one and setting up an explosive fifth inning.

A double off the base of the wall in the fifth by Zack Nackonechny highlighted the big rally for the Indians.
