Sam Dionne allowed just one hit and struck out five without a walk in four strong innings as the Indians earned their third straight win. “We had a great trip to Florida, were a little flat when we came back against Bristol Central and then showed a lot of mental toughness beating a very good New Britain team and then these last two games,” Newington head coach Ben Alaimo said. “But we know we have our work cut out for us on Friday against Bristol Eastern. Coach Giovinazzo always has his guys ready to play.” The Indians (5-1) also got some strong performances at the plate. Mike Sobolewski went 2-for-3 with a double, Gunnar Johnson went 3-for-3 with two RBI and Ethan Errera added a double of his own as well.
